I didn't recognize two of the symbols
that were drawn upon the wooden
floor.  Rose peddles were strewn
about, and the main room smelt of
burning ceder.  There were two ritual
rooms that were in use (one could hear
the echoes of the chants), although the
entire house was lit by candle light and
set up for separate rites to inhabit each
of the fourteen rooms...

The main hall at the entrance led to a
ceremonial circle, where most of the
newcomers remained, and although I
felt a little out of place, the light touch
of the familiar stranger who guided me
made my heart flutter yet led me to
ease...

The whispering grew as we moved
from "the red room" through a sliding
wooden door towards the room where
the cards were to be drawn and our
futures (at least for the night) were to
be decided...

I think the girl in the red mask had
already chosen her mark, and I
followed quietly behind her, as she
pulled me along by hand, just like a
shadow...
